Treasure the Moments

Recently, my sister and I brought our dad to Gardens by the Bay, together with our helper.
We visited the Cloud Forest, Flower Dome, OCBC Skyway, and stayed for the light show.
It may sound like just a normal family outing.
But to us, it meant a lot.
My dad is 89 this year and now uses a wheelchair, so being out for 5 hours was actually a big thing.
As I watched him enjoy the scenery and light show, my heart felt warm.
I have been there before. This time, I went there not for the attractions but to create memories because moments like these are hard to come by.
When we are younger, we often think there will always be a “next time.”
Next trip.
Next outing.
Next chance.
But as our parents grow older, time feels more precious.
I treasure the simple things with my dad:
A meal
A conversation
Making him smile, bringing him joy
Time spent together
That day reinforced what I deeply believe in:
Some of the most meaningful moments in life are not the grand achievements or big milestones.
They are the moments we choose to be fully present for our loved ones.
Grateful for this day and the memories we created together.
