The Power of Tuning In to Yourself

I notice how rarely people pause to ask themselves how they’re truly feeling.
This week’s reflection touches on that simple yet powerful act of checking in with yourself.
How’s your mental wellbeing… really?
We often ask people, “How are you?”
But when was the last time you asked yourself that same question honestly?
Take a moment to do a simple check-in with yourself.
How are you really doing today?
Calm or anxious
Surviving or thriving
Energized or exhausted
Hopeful or heavy
Connected or isolated
💡 The truth?
Your mental state can shift. What matters is noticing where you are so you can respond with care, instead of ignoring the signs.
Awareness is the first step to change.
Because you can’t address what you don’t acknowledge.
This is a key element of my C.A.R.E.® framework: Acknowledge your emotions.
Let me share a story.
One of my coachees once told me she was addicted to watching dramas late into the night.
When I asked why, she said, “I know it’s a bad habit… but I can’t stop. It helps me numb myself.”
As we explored deeper, she realised the habit was about escape.
She felt unhappy at work and turned to binge-watching to suppress her emotions.
After just one conversation, the habit stopped.
Because she finally tuned in to what was really going on inside and acknowledged her emotions.
The need to numb disappeared.
When we stop running from our emotions and instead meet them with honesty, real healing begins.
That’s the power of acknowledging emotions.
✨ Your wellbeing deserves attention, just like your career, goals, and relationships.
So today, pause for a moment. Reflect.
Be honest with yourself.
Your emotions are telling you something. Listen to them. 💛
