The Alarming Rise of Mental Health Concerns

While reading the latest Ipsos Health Service Report 2025, I felt deeply concerned by its key findings.
Did you know that mental health has overtaken all other health concerns globally for the third consecutive year?
The report reveals a worrying reality: 45% of people worldwide now view mental health as the biggest health issue in their country, surpassing cancer and heart disease.
We’re living in a world where stress and mental health challenges affect more people than ever before.
Rising costs of living, job insecurity, and constant change have left many struggling to cope.
• Concern about mental health has risen sharply from 27% globally in 2018, to 45% in 2025.
• Worry about stress has also increased from 25% in 2018, to 31% in 2025.
• In Singapore, concern for mental health is the 8th highest of the countries surveyed (53%), and concern about stress is tied for 4th highest (39%), both above global averages.

In today’s ever-evolving and uncertain world, the pressures of work and life are taking an increasing toll on people’s well-being.
It’s clear that we all need to make mental health, well-being, and self-care a steady part of our lives, not just something we turn to in times of crisis.
When we take intentional steps to care for our minds, we don’t just survive, we thrive.
Let’s continue to look out for one another and create spaces for care and connection that bring us closer to a healthier world.
