As Layoffs Continue, Here's What Many Professionals Need to Hear

Losing a job doesn't only affect your income.
It can quietly affect how you see yourself.
With recent restructuring and layoff announcements from organisations such as Lazada, Porsche, and others, many professionals are once again facing uncertainty about what comes next.
One of the hardest parts of job loss isn't losing the job.
It's wondering what it says about you.
Job loss doesn't only create financial uncertainty.
It often shakes your sense of self-worth.
Having gone through restructuring, job loss and unemployment myself, I know how draining the journey can feel.
Rejections.
Silence after interviews.
Applications that never seem to get a response.
Over time, confidence can take a hit.
Self-doubt creeps in.
"Was I not good enough?"
"When will I ever find another job?"
That's when it's easy to focus on everything we've lost.
And that's exactly why choosing to be positive matters.
The first element of my C.A.R.E.® Framework is:
Choose to be Positive.
Not ignoring reality or challenges.
Not pretending everything is fine.
Not denying disappointment.
But making an intentional choice about how you respond.
Your mindset influences your behaviour.
And your behaviour influences the opportunities and results you create.
While you cannot always control your circumstances...
You can choose how you respond to them.
If you're navigating job loss or uncertainty right now, don't let this chapter define who you are.
Losing your job is an event.
It is not your identity.
And one difficult chapter does not determine the rest of your story.
