A Tribute to My Mum: In Her Memory

With a heavy heart, I share that my beloved mum passed away peacefully last Wednesday, with all of us by her side.
She battled dementia for 18+ long years.
What began as forgetfulness gradually deteriorated into losing her independence, no longer recognizing us, and eventually becoming bedridden, on tube feeding, unable to move, speak, or express herself.
The last 6 weeks were especially painful to witness. Watching someone you love slowly fade in pain and suffering is heartbreaking.
Yet through it all, she remained calm and peaceful.
In her final moment, as we prayed by her side, she gently closed her eyes and breathed her last breath in peace.
Even in the face of everything she endured, my mum had a strong fighting spirit and will to live.
My mum was a truly special woman.
In her, I saw kindness. A pure heart. Resilience.
She was beautiful, gentle, caring, considerate, always smiling, and helpful even to strangers.
She taught me these values through the way she lived.
She always put us first, and we could feel her love right till her final days.
Even though she could no longer recognise us or speak, we believe she could still feel us. We felt like she waited for us to arrive before letting go.
Mum, thank you for your love, for raising me with care, and for showing me through your life what kindness and strength truly mean.
You will always be in our hearts.
With Love
